I finally got to one of Martin Sandhu's Built in Notts sessions. He brings in great speakers from a set of technology founders and entrepreneurs who are making whatever it is they make in Nottingham. The session is in the OldKnows factory building. An amazing old mill that is a testament to the industrial heritage of Nottingham. The session I attended was lead by Haven Carty. He describes himself as an AI Enhanced Worker, and is a director of Integr8 Unltd.
Haven spoke about the trials challenges and resources available to a person trying to get their idea off the ground. It was a honest session full of both the reality of the task, as well as hope and possibility. Seeing people in the mid 20's give counsel and advice to the room was truly inspiring.
It is great to know that this group exists. I will do what I can to support.
I even bumped into one of my cycling buddies, who has offices in the same building and was showing off his latest invention.
